The video shows material moving during HSD mixing. High-speed mixing produces friction heat, allowing mixing and heating to take place together.
Typical mixing inputs include virgin material, regrind, powder and masterbatch. The material and recipe determine whether a particular batch suits this process.
Faster heat-up can shorten the overall cycle
Heating the material throughout the batch takes time. Reaching the required temperature sooner can reduce the overall time from loading to discharge, while the necessary holding time at that temperature remains unchanged.
Heat-up
The material throughout the batch needs to reach the target temperature. HSD1 adds thermal-oil heating to help this part of the process.
Holding at temperature
The material still needs its required drying or holding time once it reaches the target temperature. Faster heat-up does not remove that requirement.
Overall drying cycle
Reducing the heat-up portion can shorten the full loading-to-discharge cycle. Actual timing depends on the material and operating conditions.
Moisture leaves with exhausted hot air. Reaching a temperature and achieving the required drying result are separate parts of selecting the process.
HSD or HSD1: compare the heating method
HSD1's main benefit is faster heat-up. Electricity heats thermal oil, which transfers heat to the material alongside friction heating. This can reduce black specks somewhat by reducing the heat that must come from friction, but it does not eliminate the concern.

Questions about high-speed mixing and drying
Does HSD1 reduce the required holding time?
No. HSD1 can shorten heat-up, which can shorten the overall loading-to-discharge cycle. The material still needs its required holding or drying time at the target temperature.
Can HSD1 prevent black specks in transparent PET?
No black-speck-free result is promised. Thermal-oil heating reduces reliance on friction heat and can reduce black specks somewhat, but Hetian still generally does not recommend HSD1 for transparent PET.
Can the machine mix powder, regrind and masterbatch?
