Dry virgin plastic material with hot air before it enters the processing machine. SHD is a hopper dryer typically installed above the machine, with a proportioning inlet below for combining dried material and regrind in a beside-machine arrangement.

Where the dryer sits above the molding machine

From the hopper dryer to the processing machine
SHD uses hot air to dry the material. Moisture leaves with the exhausted hot air. In the beside-machine arrangement shown here, dried virgin material and regrind meet below the dryer.
Virgin material in SHD
Virgin material is held in the hopper for hot-air drying before processing.
Regrind joins at the inlet
Regrind enters one side of the proportioning inlet below the dryer and combines with the dried material.
Mixed material enters the machine
The combined material passes from the inlet into the processing machine.
The virgin-material and regrind proportioning inlet interface is included with SHD at no additional charge. The included item is the inlet interface; discuss any separate conveying or dosing equipment with us.
Optional energy-saving upgrade
The upgrade adds insulation to reduce heat loss and helps maintain the required drying temperature.
Approximately 15–30% lower electricity use
Compared with an SHD without this upgrade under similar operating conditions. Actual savings vary with the material, drying temperature, ambient temperature, moisture, feeding frequency and operating pattern.
Feed capacity is the listed material quantity in kg, not a drying rate in kg/h.

Is SHD mainly for virgin material or regrind?
SHD is typically used for virgin material in the arrangement described here. Regrind joins below the dryer through the proportioning inlet. Its own drying requirement still depends on the material and condition.
